Dexel Name card

When we thought about designing our very own name card, we decided that it needed to showcase our brand identity and values. Additionally, we felt that the primary purpose of the name card was to create strong first impressions.

The name card functioned as an icebreaker and a conversation opener when we were meeting our clients. Since the first impression in a meeting is always the most important, it was important to get the name card right. We started brainstorming and thinking of ways to make our name card stand out. Furthermore, we did not want to limit ourselves to standard conventions. In fact, experimental designs were considered to show that we could break free from the word “impossible”.

Eventually, we came out with a name card that looked both sophisticated and imaginative. The foundation of the name card is a triple layered Mohawk paper sandwich with a red mid layer. In the front part, our brand logo was printed with a die cut effect. This effect further emphasised the depth of the name card, while concurrently highlighted the fluid logo lines. On top of that, the blind deboss letters completed the multi-dimensional look.

On the flip side, the back part contained our message of “Beyond Ideas”, embedded in the space between the die cuts. Our contact details were placed neatly against the sides of the name card. Together, they effectively communicate what our identity and the innovative brand values we stand for.

The name card has succeeded in resonating with our clients. Often times, we receive exclamations of “Wow”, and they look extremely impressed by the unique design. As a matter of fact, many clients engaged with us to find out more about the inspiration behind our name card. Ultimately, the name card was able to transmit our messages of going “Beyond Ideas” and the courage to explore the impossible.

We are proud to announce that this branding namecard got an honorable mention in the International Design Awards (IDA) 2014.
